Kent takes part in Eastern ARC
The University of East Anglia, the University of Essex and the University of Kent have established a new research consortium in a move that brings together three of the UK's leading universities. The Eastern Academic Research Consortium (ARC) will build on the universities' existing research and partnership activities to become a significant new force in research, and research training.
The three initial research areas are Environment Science/Synthetic Biology, Digital Humanities & Quantitative Social Sciences, for which I will take the lead for Kent.
Each institution will fund three five-year postdoctoral Fellowships with the expectation that they will develop successful grant applications. There will also be six PhD studentships per institution (two in each research area).
